Here's Otto:
It's been sorta windy every day here at the beach, so we've been hiking in the woods.
We hiked a trail up in Corolla the first day. It's basically the last piece of land that hasn't been developed, and is set aside for the wild horses that the tourists haven't hit with their cars (yet).
Here's Heather walking Osa on the beach outside our house:
They built the houses in this section of the beach right on the sand dunes, so that the beach grass can't grow. The ocean has slowly been eating away the shoreline and the houses. Both lots on either side of the house we're in are no longer. One of the neighboring houses has "Last Year" spray-painted on it. Another house reinforced its pilings, and has waves under it during high tide.
We hiked in the Nags Head Woods another day.
From left to right: Nathan, Lacey, Me, Andy, & Hilary with Otto.
The last time Andy and I hiked this trail, we almost stepped on mating water moccasins.
Part of the trail cuts across a through-way for the power lines. In 1989, Jay Arneson, some friends, and I drove Gordon's 4x4 truck down this power line through-way to a sand cliff that we could not drive up. I'm pretty sure I saw this cliff on our hike.

Nothing could be finer
Was driven to PDX Saturday, March 5th by our good friend Dennis Presley.
Broken plane in Mini-St. Paul delayed our arrival in VA until 1:30am.
Got one beer and closed the Bier Garden on the street I was born on (High Street).
Woke up at the folks house and had breakfast with my Brother Michael, Grandma, and friend of the family Copie before driving to Kitty Hawk to meet my nephew Otto for the first time.
Stopped by my old neighbor's shop to see his new truck.
You know you're in Carolina when you can walk under your vehicle without ducking.
